About Larry Eiler Larry Eiler is an entrepreneur, author, lecturer, and counselor to high-tech, financial services and other companies. He is co-founder, chairman and chief executive of Eiler Communications—a marketing, public relations and investor relations firm headquartered in Ann Arbor. The firm’s business expertise is in six core competencies – marketing positioning, audiences and messaging; media relations; financial marketing & investor relations; crisis preparedness; media and analyst preparation and training; internal communications. This is Larry’s second book about cancer. He published “When the Woman You Love has Breast Cancer,” in 1994, and has lectured on that topic in eight states. He is a director of the Haakon Ragde Foundation for Advanced Cancer Studies, a Seattle-based group whose mission is to study metastatic bone cancer. The firm’s client list includes ABN AMRO Mortgage Group, Dynamic Computer, Nu Step, infoLAB, SPARK, the Michigan Venture Capital Association, the CFI Group, InterFirst Wholesale Mortgage, Michigan Business Direct’s “Deals of the Year” program, National Archive Publishing Company, the Entrepreneurial Initiative of Southeast Michigan, the IT Zone, Tech Town, among others. S. Most recently, his “We’re Cornered Michigan” op-ed article has appeared in print and electronic media across the state. He co-hosts a weekly business radio show, “Innovations with Eiler and Pasick,” on WAAM talkradio 1600. Eiler has lectured and authored numerous articles on economic development, public relations and industrial and technology marketing. His 2001 article comparing Michigan and Silicon Valley tech economies was widely chronicled across the state. Larry was the only person selected in the marketing and PR area by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of Michigan’s leading high-tech executives. He is Accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), served on its National Accreditation Board, was an officer and director of the Minneapolis-St. Paul chapter and was an officer and director of the National Investor Relations Institute where he chaired the national conference. He also was president of the Michigan PR Counselors. He was an executive of Carl Byoir, one of the world’s largest PR counseling firms, and held marketing and communications management positions at Honeywell, Comshare and Machine Vision International. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Entrepreneurial Initiative of Southeast Michigan, the Eastern Michigan University Business School Advisory Board, and a Director and member of the Executive Committee for the Ann Arbor IT Zone. He taught marketing at Eastern Michigan’s College of Business and led high-tech marketing seminar at the University of Michigan Business School. Eiler developed the noted “Marketing and Program Development” training program for scientists and engineers and taught it at various technology companies and institutes around the U.S. including Allied Signal, BDM International, Nichols Research, Ford Aerospace, the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan and others. |
